Chicago voters can cast their ballots for mayor, alderpeople and police district council members starting Jan. 26 at two Downtown locations and Feb. 13 across the city.
Election Day is Feb. 28. In races for mayor and City Council, if no candidate wins more than 50% of the vote, the top two candidates will head to a runoff on April 4.
The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners will open its supersite to voters at 191 N. Clark St. and the Board of Elections office at 69 W. Washington St., 6th floor, starting Jan. 26 – now that all but two of the ballot challenges have been resolved.
Voting will take place at both locations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, officials said. Starting Feb. 20, both polling places will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays.
The supersite will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, but the board’s office will be closed to voters.
An early voting location will open in each of Chicago’s 50 wards on Feb. 13 and remain open through Election Day. Those locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, officials said.
Chicago voters, regardless of their address, can register to vote and cast a ballot at any early voting location through Election Day.
Two forms of government-issued identification, one of which shows the voter's current address, are needed to register for the first time or to file a name change or update an address, officials said.
All Chicago voters can also cast their ballot by mail, with applications due by Feb. 23. The first ballots will be mailed Jan. 19, officials said.
